Strain point 2

Symbol ε2
Unit -
Attribute-ID stress_strain_curve_strain_point2
Numeric ID 6597
Value Type PMDouble

To consider the actual material behavior in the calculation of a multiple compression splice, the stress-strain curve must be specified in multilinear form. This allows the calculation to take into account potential material reserves that cannot be considered in a simplified elastic-ideal plastic material model.

The stresses σ2 to σ4 and the corresponding strains ε2 to ε4 are to be taken from the stress-strain curve from experiments (tensile test) or from conservative estimates such that the profile is well approximated by the straight lines.

For the specified stresses, the following must apply: 0 < σ1 <= σ2 <= σ3 <= σ4 < Rm
