The running-in allowance yβ is the value by which the initially effective tooth trace deviation is reduced during running-in.
The running-in factor κβ describes the effective tooth trace deviation remaining after running-in.
yβ and κβ do not include the running-in allowance removed during manufacturing.
The numerical determination of the running-in allowance yβ and the running-in factor κβ are performed according to the equations in DIN 3990 Part I p. 25 or ISO 6336-I pp. 46-47
