Selection of the shaft stiffness used. The following options are available:
- Analytical modeling using a Timoshenko beam (default).
- An imported CAD geometry with subsequent internal FEM meshing. For the connection to the analytical shaft-bearing-gearing system, see the step-by-step procedure further down in the tab. The FEM component is then considered in the system calculation via a reduced stiffness matrix.
- The shaft can also be modeled internally. Parameterization is done using the specifications for the shaft contour and notches. The 3D view shows the current modeling state. The FEM meshing is then carried out (as is the subsequent connection, like with the imported CAD geometry) via the step-by-step procedure further down in the tab.
