The following options are available for specifying the stress/load curve:
Constant: The load determined in the system calculation (and the stress calculated from it) are considered constant, corresponding to a stress ratio R = 1
Alternating: The load determined in the system calculation (and the stress calculated from it) are considered as the (positive) maximum value, the minimum value has the same amount but with a negative sign, corresponding to a stress ratio R = -1
Pulsating: The load determined in the system calculation (and the stress calculated from it) are considered as the (positive) maximum value, the minimum value is 0, corresponding to a stress ratio R = 0
Specification of amplitude: The amplitude (A) with which the stress/load oscillates about the mean value can be specified. For positive mean stress, the stress ratio is R=(1-A)/(1+A), for negative mean stress R=(1+A)/(1-A). For the DIN 743 calculation, the load determined in the system calculation (and the stress calculated from it) is taken as the mean value. For the calculation according to the FKM guideline, the load determined in the overall system (and the stress calculated from it) is regarded as the upper value.
