Absorption of axial forces in the u-direction

Indicates the direction in which the coupling point can absorb axial forces.

Both directions

The coupling can absorb forces acting in the direction of the positive or negative u axis.

Positive

With positive axial force absorption, an axial force acting in the direction of the positive u axis on side 1 of the coupling will be absorbed by side 2 of the couping point. Similarly, an axial force that acts in the negative direction on side 2 is absorbed by side 1.

Negative

With negative axial force absorption, an axial force acting in the direction of the negative u axis on side 1 of the coupling will be absorbed by side 2 of the couping point. Similarly, an axial force that acts in the positive direction on side 2 is absorbed by side 1.

Note: Side 1 and side 2 refer to the installation direction of the coupling, where side 1 is the component on which the coupling is mounted and side 2 is the component that is coupled with the component from side 1.
