Both radial and axial clearances can be specified for bearing locations for which only stiffnesses are provided. If the displacement is smaller than the specified clearance, no force is transmitted in the relevant direction. Tilting moments are only transferred if force is transmitted in at least one of the two force directions.
Note: The specification of clearances can lead to increased calculation times and convergence problems for the system calculation. This is especially the case for bearing locations that are specified as "ideally stiff." If this occurs, a slightly reduced stiffness between 109 and 1011 N/mm can be specified for the bearing location as a workaround.
