The calculation of efficiency and power loss according to Wech can be performed for bevel and hypoid gears. The hypoid gears are approximated by virtual helical gears. The replacement geometry data are calculated analogous to the load capacity calculation method according to Niemann / Winter. The calculation of the efficiency is based on the geometry and operating data of the load capacity calculation according to DIN 3991 (bevel gears without offset) or Niemann / Winter (hypoid gears).
