The following calculation models are available for the roller-rib contact:
- Point contact according to FVA 998: The roller-rib contact is modeled as a Hertzian point contact. The relevant geometry variables (edge radius of the roller, rib opening angle, etc.) are estimated internally.
- Simplified according to FVA 364 II: The user can determine the position of the rib contact on the rolling element via a lever arm. An additional tilting angle for the rolling element is estimated from the axial displacement and the contact force is finally determined from the equilibrium conditions for the rolling element.
