Determination of the risk of flank fracture for bevel and hypoid gears according to FVA 223/xxiv.
The methods according to Böhme 1/2 are multi-axial calculation methods based on the stress intensity hypothesis (SIH). The methods differ in the consideration of the mean shear stresses; there is no preferred method according to the current state of the art. The standard method developed for cylindrical gears in accordance with ISO 6336-4 can also be used for comparison purposes.
