Coordinate system dependent on direction of shaft rotation

The plain bearing calculation module uses a left-handed x,y,z coordinate system. This switch is used to define the orientation of the plain bearing coordinate system relative to the right-handed u,v,w shaft coordinate system.

Default: Not dependent on the direction of shaft rotation. The following coordinate assignment then always applies:

• x = w
• y = v
• z = u

If the plain bearing coordinate system is defined depending on the direction of shaft rotation, the following also applies for a clockwise rotating shaft:

• x = w
• y = v
• z = u

However, for a counterclockwise rotating shaft (negative speed):

• x = -w
• y = v
• z = -u
