The calculation method for actual measured data specifies whether the local gear calculation is performed only within the measuring grid (contact calculation only within the measurement grid) or on the entire effective flank (contact calculation extended to usable flank).
- Contact calculation extended to usable flank: The measured data is supplemented by simulated data at the flank edges and in the root area. The flank deviations calculated from the actual measurement data are used to generate points in the edge areas of the effective flank. The contact pattern, ease-off, and stress calculations are performed on the entire effective flank.
- Contact calculation only within the measurement grid: The flank edge areas are not adjusted. The contact pattern, ease-off, and stress calculations are only performed for the measured flank area. If the actual measuring grid does not cover the entire effective flank area, an evaluation of the load capacities is not possible, or only possible to a very limited extent, since the position and size of the contact pattern is restricted by the measuring grid border and not by the actual tooth border.
