The tooth flank temperature is required if "acc. to VDI 2736:2014" is selected for the rolling contact fatigue strength σ_HlimN. In this case, the value for σ_HlimN is determined based on the material designation and the curves found in VDI 2736:2014.

The tooth flank temperature is also required if measurement data is specified for the rolling contact fatigue strength σ_HlimN, the modulus of elasticity E, or Poisson's ratio ν.
