Transverse section coordinates

The determined tooth flank contour can be output for further use.

To do this, follow these steps:

1. Enter the model parameters for the geometry calculation.
2. In the plot controls tab:
   Select Transverse section coordinates or Transverse section coordinates (two tools).
   Activate Show tool for gear no.1 or Show tool for gear no.1. + 2. .
   
   
   
   
3. In the configuration data tab:
   Activate Output spur gear plot data
   
   
   
   
4. Start the main geometry calculation.
   The plot data is created in the kernel's working folder.
   
   

The naming scheme for the file is:

zahnkonXtoolY.txt

• "X“ is either 1 or 2, depending on the number of tools.
• "Y“ is a placeholder for the gear; here, a 3 represents a ring gear of a planetary stage.

Therefore, the contour file of a ring gear of a planetary stage created with a single tool would be named zahnkon1w3. The number of points of the plot data can be changed via the plot accuracy setting under the "plot control" tab. Smaller numbers lead to a larger number of points.
