The definition of the bearing geometry requires the input of a completely enclosed bearing using the segment start angle ϕA and the segment end angle ϕE. This means that the end angles of a segment have to correspond to the start angles of the following segment. The position of the hydrostatic pockets is determined separately by the respective angle inputs.
The first segment must intersect or touch the origin, i.e. contain the angle 0°.
