In order to map the flank damage caused by pitting and micropitting on the tooth flank, the damage calculation is divided into individual calculation steps. The number of calculation steps i determines the discretization of the total number of load cycles.
If a load spectrum is used, mixing of the load cases in the calculation steps can be set by deactivating sorting of the load spectrum.
If no load spectrum is used (load spectrum calculation deactivated), the total number of load cycles nges is evenly distributed over i calculation steps. Consequently, ni = nges/i load cycles are considered per calculation step.
If a load spectrum is to be used (load spectrum calculation activated), each of the j load spectrum steps is divided into i calculation steps. This results in j x i calculation steps. The load steps can be mixed during the calculation, but this will only take place if "Sorting of load spectrum" is deactivated.
