Location

The country-specific electricity mix is taken into account to determine the CO₂ emissions caused by the use of electrical energy. This drop-down menu is used to select the country whose average electricity mix is used as the basis for the calculation.

The composition of energy sources used differs depending on the selected country (e.g.; proportion of renewable energies, fossil fuels, or nuclear energy), which also changes the corresponding emission factor. The emission factor is automatically applied based on the available data for the selected country. The year in which the data was collected must be taken into account.
