The number of teeth on the skiving cutter wheel. Since the size of the cutter wheel for internal gears is limited by the diameter of the internal gear, the number of teeth on the cutting wheel should not exceed half the number of teeth on the gear wheel.

According to FVA 661, increasing the number of cutting wheel teeth has the following effects:

Reduction of the maximum rake thickness
Increase in the minimum rake angle
Increase in the minimum clearance angle
Reduction of the cutting force
