The notch depth tG describes the measured depth of the grinding notch. It should be noted that the notch depth internally calculated notch by the kernel is always based on the 30° tangent. Correct results for FVA 16 and FVA 709 can only be obtained if a measured notch depth is used as shown in the following figure:
