If the tooth tip diameter of the gear will be produced by cutting with the tool, than the dedendum of the rack reference profile hfP0 determines the tip diameter. Otherwise, the dedendum must be large enough so that the tooth tip is not cut by rolling. The dedendum is referred to the profile reference line for the tooth thickness sP0.

sP0=0.5·π·mnP0 (is equal to half pitch)
