Slicing method:
Using the "slicing method," the contact along the roller axis is divided into individual adjacent line contacts. The respective line load for the operating condition is determined for each contact slice. This is done using the slice deformations and the deflection equation for the slices.
Reusner method:
This can be used to calculate edge effects for any roller profiles, which can be taken into account for the rating life calculation.
