If a gear is to be machined by only one tool, it is selected here.
If a machining allowance q is specified, this tool is considered as a preliminary machining tool.
If no machining allowance is specified, this tool is considered as a finishing tool.
If only one tool is specified and a machining allowance is provided, the geometry is calculated as pre-machining. In this case, the resulting geometry and the plots created should be closely reviewed for reasonableness. Although the plot of the tip of the mating gear can be activated for pre-machining, it is not useful in this case.
