The deviation of the shaft angle describes the changed angular position of the pinion or wheel as a result of installation dimension deviations or bearing tolerances compared to the theoretical shaft angle. The axle angle between wheel and pinion is changed and as a result, there is a deviation in the contact pattern and changed loads such as edge pressure. A positive deviation increases the shaft angle.
