The addendum angle θa is the difference angle between the face angle and the pitch cone angle. Together with the dedendum angle θf it characterizes the tooth depth wise taper. For a constant tooth depth, θa = θf = 0.
The addendum and dedendum angles of the wheel are used as input parameters for the calculation according to IS0 23509 (2016) to determine the root and face angles of pinion and wheel.
