Torsional moment

Symbol MT
Unit Nm
Attribute-ID vdi_2230_torque_about_the_bolt_axis
Numeric ID 12109
Value Type PMTechValue

The torsional moment MT corresponds to the torque about the bolt axis.

The moment is included in the calculation of the necessary clamping force FKQ (R2), which must be present for the transmission of a shear force and/or a torque by frictional locking. In addition, the safety against sliding and the shear stress (R12) are determined.

Torsional moments can only be specified if the load type contains a shear component. However, you also have the option of specifying "No torque" if a transverse load for the shear component instead.
