The utilization factor v indicates the percentage of the minimum yield strength Rp0.2min of the bolt to be utilized.
Usually, the tables of VDI 2230 specify permissible assembly preload for a utilization factor of 90%.
The utilization factor v is included in the calculation of the permissible assembly preload FMzul if this is calculated according to VDI 2230. However, if this is specified, then the utilization factor is at most still taken into account for torsion-free tightening and should therefore also be entered correctly.
