Selection of the stress hypothesis to be used for the calculation of the interference fit:
The calculation of DIN 7190 is based on the modified shear stress hypothesis according to Kollmann and assumes ideal plastic material behavior.
Alternatively, it is possible to calculate the stresses in the interference fit taking into account the shape modification hypothesis according to Von Mises. This also allows the consideration of a stress-strain-curve. The calculation approach was developed in FVA 566 I for elastically as well as elasto-plastically loaded multiple interference fits.
