Mesh stiffness

Symbol cγ
Unit N/(mm·µm)
Attribute-ID din3991 mesh stiffness c_gamma
Numeric ID 234
Value Type PMTechValue

Mesh stiffness, cγ, is the mean value of stiffness of all the teeth in a mesh. The mesh stiffness cγ and the single stiffness c are values related to the tooth width. These values are used for the calculation of the dynamic factor KV. Furthermore, the mesh stiffness is used for the calculation of the width and face load distribution factors.

The following approximate values for the mesh stiffness and the single stiffness are used as standard values:
cγ = 20 N/(mm µm)
c = 14 N/(mm µm)
