The selected profile modification determines which equations are used to calculate the load sharing factor XΓ. The following options are available:
No tip or root relief is present on the driving or driven gear. Equations 45-47 are used to determine XΓ.
Tip and root relief have been adequately designed for high load carrying capacity. For determining XΓ, equations 48 - 50 are used if the pinion drives the gear, and equations 51 – 53 are used if the pinion is driven by the gear.
Tip and root relief have been adequately designed for even meshing. Equations 54-46 are used to determine XΓ.
AGMA 925-A03 does not define what is considered as an "adequate" profile modification.
