Strength grade

The strength grade indicates the standardized material characteristics of the bolt.

It also provides information about possible areas of application, durability, stress, and regulates the safety.

The following selections are available:

• User specified, direct input of the following material characteristics: shear strength ratio τ_B/R_m, Young's modulus of elasticity E_S, tensile strength R_m,min, and yield point R_p0,2,min.

• Strength classes for carbon and alloy steels: 12.9, 10.9, 8.8, 5.6, and 4.6 according to DIN EN ISO 898-1

• Strength classes for corrosion-resistant stainless steels: 80, 70, and 50 according to DIN EN ISO 3506-1

When selecting a strength class, the Young's modulus E_S is assumed to be 205 GPa.
