Indicates the direction in which the bearing location can absorb axial forces.
It is assumed that the force of the shaft either acts on the bearing or in the direction of the shaft-bearing housing. For shaft-in-shaft arrangements, the reference shaft is the shaft on which the bearing inner ring sits.
Both sides
The bearing position can absorb forces acting in the direction of the positive or negative u-axis.
Positive
With positive axial force absorption, an axial force acting in the direction of the positive u-axis on the inner ring will be absorbed by the location of the outer ring. In the same way, an axial force that acts in the negative direction on the outer ring is absorbed by the location of the inner ring.

Negative
With negative axial force absorption, an axial force acting in the direction of the negative u-axis on the inner ring will be absorbed by the location of the outer ring. Similarly, an axial force that acts in the positive direction on the outer ring is absorbed by the location of the inner ring.
