Center distance

The nominal center distance specifies the distance between the two axes of a spur gear stage.

The center distance can be specified in the Workbench two different ways:

1. Direct specification in the parameter window
2. Calculation using additional main geometry data

The following values are required:

• Normal module
• Normal pressure angle
• Number of teeth
• Helix angle
• Addendum modification coefficient

According to DIN3960, the tooth ratio and center distance of internal gears are negative.
